our website, and related support and account services (together, the "Services").
Per Diem is a personal finance and FIRE planning app. Our core service depends on
handling sensitive financial information, so we aim to explain our data practices in

This Privacy Policy applies to information we process through the Services. It does
not apply to websites, apps, or services that we do not control, even if they are linked
from Per Diem.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:

Account and profile information. Name, email address, sign-in method,
household setup details, and profile inputs such as birth year, filing status, risk
tolerance, retirement assumptions, and household planning details.

Financial data. Account balances, account types, transactions,
holdings, liabilities, income data, budgets, assets, goals, and FIRE planning outputs.

Subscription and billing status. Subscription entitlement status,
renewal and expiration dates, and related account identifiers returned by our
subscription infrastructure. We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

Device, usage, and diagnostics information. App version, operating
system, device identifiers, push notification tokens, log data, crash information,
performance data, and support diagnostics.

Support communications. Information you send when you contact support,
including your message content and attachments you choose to provide.

Ask AI content. If you choose to use Ask AI, we collect your prompts,
the responses returned to you, and the specific financial context retrieved to answer
your question.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information in the following ways:

Directly from you. For example, when you create an account, complete
onboarding, edit budgets, add assets, contact support, or ask a question in Ask AI.

From connected financial accounts. When you connect an account, we
receive financial data from the aggregation services and financial institutions you
choose to use with Per Diem.

Automatically through the app and website. We receive technical and
diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services.

From service providers. For example, authentication, subscription,
observability, and infrastructure providers may return account, billing, or diagnostic
information that helps us operate the Services.
4. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide the Per Diem app and your household workspace.
- Import, organize, and display financial data you choose to connect.
- Generate budgets, net worth summaries, account views, and FIRE planning outputs.
- Process subscriptions and maintain premium access.
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud, secure accounts, and investigate abuse.
- Send transactional and service communications, including security notices.
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot product issues.
- Maintain logs, detect crashes, and improve reliability and performance.

Provide Ask AI when you choose to use it and have granted the required permission.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only as needed
to operate the Services, at your direction, or when required by law.
Categories of third parties we may share data with include:

Authentication and database providers. We use Supabase for account
authentication and managed database infrastructure.

Financial aggregation providers. We use providers such as Plaid and
SnapTrade to connect and sync financial accounts that you choose to link.

Subscription infrastructure providers. We use RevenueCat to manage
subscription status and entitlement state.

Infrastructure, security, and observability providers. We use service
providers to host the Services, detect errors, monitor performance, and keep the
product secure.

AI providers. If you choose to use Ask AI and grant permission, we
share the data described in Section 6 with the AI provider you selected.

Legal and business transfers. We may disclose information if required
by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing,
acquisition, or sale of assets.
We require service providers that process personal information for us to use it only for
the services they provide to Per Diem and under contractual confidentiality, security,
and data protection obligations.
6. Ask AI and Third-Party AI Providers
Ask AI is an optional feature. It is not used automatically. Before Per Diem sends
personal or financial data to a third-party AI provider, the app presents a disclosure
and asks for your permission.
When you choose to use Ask AI, Per Diem may send:
- Your Ask AI prompts and follow-up questions.

Relevant financial context needed to answer your question, which may include balances,
transactions, budget categories, income, holdings, and FIRE plan outputs.
- The provider you selected in the app settings.
The third-party AI providers supported by Per Diem currently include:
- Google LLC (Gemini)
- Anthropic, PBC (Claude)
- Groq, Inc.
If you change AI providers in the app, Per Diem asks for permission again before sending
data to the new provider.
7. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services,
maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our
agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and applicable legal
requirements.
8. Your Choices
- You can disconnect financial accounts from within the app.
- You can withdraw Ask AI permission in the app settings.
- You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- You can delete your household from within the app settings.

subject to legal and operational requirements.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal
information. No security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
Per Diem is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will
post the updated version here and update the "Last Updated" date.
