These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Per Diem mobile app, website, and related services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Per Diem is a personal finance and FIRE planning product. It helps users organize account data, track transactions and budgets, model goals, and review planning outputs. Certain features require a paid subscription.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.
  • You may not share your account in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Access to premium features may require an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple or another authorized platform.
  • Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and related purchase terms are governed by the platform through which you purchased your subscription.
  • Deleting your Per Diem account does not automatically cancel your platform subscription.

4. Financial Connections

If you connect bank, brokerage, or other financial accounts, you authorize Per Diem and its service providers to access, retrieve, and refresh the account data needed to provide the Services. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to connect and use those accounts with Per Diem.

5. Ask AI

  • Ask AI is optional.
  • Per Diem only sends personal or financial data to a third-party AI provider after the app has disclosed the sharing and you have granted permission.
  • Ask AI may use your prompts and the financial context needed to answer them, including balances, transactions, budget data, income, holdings, and FIRE plan outputs.
  • AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not appropriate for your circumstances.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
  • Attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the Services.
  • Reverse engineer or misuse non-public parts of the Services except where prohibited by law.
  • Use the Services to build or train a competing product using Per Diem content or systems.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code or harmful content.

7. Intellectual Property

Per Diem and its licensors own the Services and all related software, content, branding, and intellectual property, excluding user content and data you provide.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if you violate these Terms, create security risk, misuse the product, or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the Services at any time and may delete your household from the app settings.

9. Disclaimers

  • Per Diem is an informational planning tool. It does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.
  • Market data, account data, and synced balances may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.
  • FIRE calculations and scenario modeling are estimates based on assumptions and historical inputs. They are not guarantees of future outcomes.
  • The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Per Diem will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to the Services. Our total liability for claims arising from the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Per Diem during the 12 months before the claim arose or $100.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms and revise the "Last Updated" date.
